We are the local which represents unionized employees at CITY Vancouver and OMNI BC, News 1130, National Imaging Producers and Creative Services & Traffic. Unifor-830M makes sure you work in a fair and safe environment. One of the major functions of your local union is to negotiate the terms, conditions and wages for our members. We are part of a larger national union, Unifor, which represents over 300,000 members, including 25,000 people who work in the media industry.
Unifor was created out of a merger between CEP and CAW on August 31st, 2013. For more information on this merger and our new union check out Unifor’s national web site.
Our 2025 AGM was held Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Voting is now closed. Bylaws as proposed passed and are now being reviewed/approved by our Unifor National Office. Thank you to those who accepted nominations or volunteered for the open positions. All open council positions were filled by acclamation; see our contacts page for details.
January 2025 Update: Bargaining continues for our 3 new units (News 1130, National Imaging Producers and Creative Services & Traffic) that are working towards their first agreement. Private updates are being provided through individual unit chat groups and a full update was provided at our 2025 AGM on January 22, 2025.
Bargaining dates for the CityTV/Omni group’s existing agreement have been set for Feb. 24-26, 2025.
News 1130 Bargain Updates:

Creative Services & Traffic Updates:
In progress, 2025 bargain meeting dates are taking place. Progress on this contract is good, we are at the final stage of negotiating – discussing wages.
